Conceived as an inward-looking sanctuary, this 1,000 sq. yard residence redefines privacy not as isolation, but as a carefully crafted condition of living. Known as the House of Veils, the house presents a calm, solid presence to the outside world, while opening generously inward through a sequence of courtyards that form the soul of the home.

Spread across basement, ground, and first levels, the architecture is shaped by light, air, and layered views into gardens and courts, all while maintaining a strong sense of seclusion. Living spaces are oriented inward, allowing daily life to unfold around pockets of nature—protected yet open. Two courtyards descend into the basement, drawing daylight and ventilation deep into the structure and blurring the boundary between above and below.

A layered veil of perforated screens wraps the courtyards at their edges, filtering light, softening views, and tempering the breeze while safeguarding privacy. These screens act as thresholds rather than barriers, allowing the house to breathe while remaining shielded. The result is a home that turns away from the noise of its surroundings, where light, air, and nature are carefully modulated through screens, and a sense of openness and comfort is found from within.
